just 4 to share with you (still trying to make time to PP teh images from the Tuscany trip  )

Focal Point - the little photography group i'm in set monthly challenges - due to one thing and another (house renovation!) i did not enter too many last year but, follwing the arrival of the D70 i made a promise to try and catch up on them all over our summer break, these 4 are off the D70

Theme - Knobs and Knockers (ask Diane why - she set it..)
D70, 50mm 1.8, 20mm extension tube, tripod

Image

Theme - Dance

Set up as above but 10mm extension tube

Image

Theme - Love - probably my favourite

D70, 50mm 1.8 @ f4.5

Image

And finally -

Theme - Charades - i set this one - represent a book, film etc in one picture.....
This represents a book (literary classic, 2 words)

Answer - what you have when waiting to see if all six balls match your ticket - 'Great Expectations'

Comments / critique welcomed.......

My favs are the knobs and knockers and the love pics.

Very, very simple and effective :)

On a closer glance, the first pic is a knockout in terms of composition and atmosphere :D

I'd seriously consider PP-ing the love pic a bit to tidy it up, then create prints to sell ;)

As Arthur would say ”er in doors is the designer” - simplistic, well composed shots that convey the thought process very well :D

Aplogies for the delayed reply - i've been away from a pc for a day or so.......

Pirostitch - thanks for the comments - i love simple images which is why im struggling with he next challenge - Rembrandt is the theme, like his work but too its hard to recreate for a simple mind like mine.........!

Would love to know what you'd tidy up on the 'Love' shot - i kinda thought it was ok? as for selling it - a local cafe has works by local artistf on the walls for sale........... in time i may be tempted to get a few shots printed and framed, then see if they'd out them on the walls for me.

Whatever happens i'm getting an enlargement done for home.

As for the door knobs - just waitng for my joiner to hang some doors so they can be out to use!

sirhc55 - thanks for your comments-much appreciated

Chris, I'm a sucker for saturated images so for me, I'd colour balance it a bit more so that the bkg was white (rather than light blue - even tho the bkg might have been light blue) and increase the colour saturation a bit.

I can really see that image as framed photos as well as prints on Valentine's Day cards and the like.

PiroStich - thanks for that - i know what you mean - i was actually going to look at that element myself - the background was actually white, thought i'd got the balance right until i got my print back and mounted it on white card to
Like the Valentines card idea - not too sure to to execute that but it has to be considered........ :D
