BBJ, that lens looks faulty - send it up here and I will do a thorough test on it and report for Maxwells, should only take 6 months or so

BBJ - 'WOW' factor from where I am sitting.

I especially like the third shot.

Thanks Glen, but she will be right mate. I had to sacrifice the D2x for this lens but i am very happy with it so far, i am not a bird person so it's all new to me shooting these things i used to be used to looking at these at the end of a 12gauge shotgun. I am rather surprised of the focusing speed with the 2x tc on as well and will test that out a bit more on saturday at the track. I am having to get used to using a monopod now all the time as it is a brick, think it weighs something like 2.8kg.

I have tried to add this to my list under my signature but wont let me add it says signature too long , even deleted some but still would not work.
Cheers
John

It is pretty sharp. I was considering getting the AF-S II or VR plus 2x TC instead of the 500MM F4 + 1.4x TC. I know quite a few of the Canon guys on NSN use the 300F2.8 IS with the 2x EF TC and the shots are very sharp. Apparently the Canon 2x TC is quite a bit sharper than the Nikon's. Hopefully Nikon will get it right the next time they release a lot of TCs.

Nicely done John. BTW, 255 character limit for sig would include all spaces and lines. Try on one or two lines.
