Bright Green-Eyed Fly & Spiders

There wasn't much out there for macros today. Probably a little chilly this morning.

I found this freaky looking fly...

ISO200, 1/160 @ f20

It looks alright at web size but printed out at a4 it looks a little 'painted'. I'm not sure quite why.

I was hoping that the reflection wouldn't be quite so big in the eyes. The flash made it look not quite so freaky.

Comments welcome

P.S. For all those that read my thread about my SB-800 underexposing... I think it was the diffusers fault. I took it off today and it was MUCH better. I knew the diffuser stole some light but the difference was HUGE. The only trouble is I like the softer shadows when the diffuser is used :?

G'day Paul,
The first fly on acid really freaked me out, but the spider having lunch is terrific! The focus is spot on...

Thanks Mudder...

One of very few that I actually DO get 'spot' on with focus!
