Heya People
Just came back from a kick ass art event held at the National Art School, East Sydney tonight Sponsored by Absolut Vodka - Absolutely!
There was glitz and glam and a guy we all know as Nnnnsic but he was in disguise and quite hard to spot.
This high calibre exhibition featured works by renowned artists Ken Done and John Wolseley to name a few and among them a former picture of the week by our very own Nnnnsic - Yay!!!
Bud, I am proud of you!, your a very humble person as you normally keep your achievments away from your friends. Hopefully this is a startoff point to greater opportunities!
The image that made most go what the?...how the?...why the?
This gig is goin' off!
Yes, we know you are a freak.

Well done Leigh, the disguise nearly fooled me until I remembered that real 'Bunnies' dont usually have beards!

Leigh - you can never be a real artist until you cut one of the bunnies ears off Congrats mate

The same!
Every graduate from the past year at Uni was sent a 4x6" postcard canvas and we were asked to do something for Drawcard... so it's no big deal.
And the bunny ears... that's for a play... and because I'm cute and fluffy.
The idea behind it is we all donate work that will all sell for 200 each, but you're not supposed to know who did what, so no one signs.
Of course, that's the theory.
A lot of people sign and a lot of people just tell whose their's is.
And the other bunch have works identical to every other thing they've ever done.
Unbelievably, Ken Done's work is surprisngly crappier than his other really crap stuff.
The Mambo artist, I think it's Bombassa, has a good one... but most of the artists are bloody obvious, especially if you know their work.

Awesome. It is great that your work is displayed to the general public. Hopefully someone liked your work too. It works really well with the frame like that, almost looking like a window into somebody's life.
As for Ken Done, he must be an artist as i have seen his fingerpainting work on t-shirts in tourist shops.

Hey!!!!!!!!! Knock off the critism of one of Australia's renowned artistes My mother has a high regard for Ken Done, his tea towels are some of the most colourful she has and a Sunday dinner wouldn't be the same without Ken Done joining in the clean-up.
More important, congrats Leigh. A startling image the frame enhances the look of isolation. I hope it was snapped up by a real art lover and not a tea towel collector or poseur, it deserves better than that.
Cheers,
Terry

Leigh
WHile I didn't like the original pic, I really like the treatment on this and think the story about how you did it is worth putting in here too since I think it's a very clever concept. WHile a few of us know the story I think you should share it with the rest....

Sorry Leigh
My comments about "the original pic" referred to the lady on the bus, not the man with the bunny ears.
SO what Wendell says!
