advice regarding underwater photography

Postby katie on Tue Apr 04, 2006 2:42 pm

Hi everyone.....

I'm brand new to this site - my first posting! (lol so be gentle with me... ) I'm a new D70 user in Melbourne - I've just upgraded from a point & shoot to a 'real' camera lol, so I've been finding these forums invaluable; this is a great site!

I'm actually doing some research for a friend who is an experienced underwater photographer with a point & shoot, but is now looking to upgrade to a DSLR. She knows all about the underwater side of things - ie. the housings etc. - but she's not sure where to start when choosing a DLSR which will almost solely be used for underwater photography.

Anybody here have any advice/opinions/experiences which might help when it comes to comparing DLSRs for underwater photography?

Thanks!!
katie

p.s. forgive me if I should have posted this in a different category/forum - I'm still finding my way around on the site, lol...

huynhie beat me too it but it's right on the money with the links, I'd also suggest picking Steve Griffin mind as he has produced some great underwater shots, and is the resident UW Guru of the forum (in my mind anyways) :) And a big Welcome to the forum!
