This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

G'day all,

Just got back from New Zealand yesterday, now starting the long road of processing images etc...

Only got 2 sunny days out of 12 but the wet weather made the forests and the waterfalls come alive!

Just posted a few quickies, will stitch some pano's and post them later...

Already I want to go back, maybe hire a campervan and spend 2-3 weeks cruising the South Island... Wow, what a place, the scenery is absolutely stunning, didn't want to come home :(

Did you take a dip?? I was very tempted in Oct when we were on Franz Joesph but chickened out in the end. Isn't the Heli tour amazing.

the image of Franz Joseph Glacier and Kea Summit are stunning classics

the pic of the helicopter on the glacier really shows how dangerous your adventure must of been

Wow mudder, they are really great shots. My favourite is the kea summit. The clouds really add to the atmosphere.

Glacier shots are great. I really like the ice crystal clear water.

Hey Andrew,

These are great - I'm looking forward to seeing more as you process them! I'm heading off to NZ in a few weeks time and hopefully will see a few more sunny days than you did. However, if it does rain, you've shown that you can still get some great shots :)

Which lens(es) did you use the most on the trip? I'm expecting to mostly use my 18-70 DX and soon-to-arrive 70-200VR. I can't wait!

Nice work. We head back there again on March 1. We rented a campervan in 05 and "did" the South Island and plan to do even more of the South Island and maybe a bit of the north, time permitting. Some snaps here http://www.pbase.com/sheila/new_zealand__south_island

For those who have not yet made this trip, I recommend you do so. Its a photographers dream!

G'day Stephen,
I used a combination of the 12-24, 18-70DX and the 80-400, but mostly the 12-24... The 80-400 I mainly used for stuff to create pano's (although I did take one sweep using the 50/F1.8 which I'm yet to stitch)...

Mate, you're gonna love it, I want to go back and hire a campervan and spend 2-3 weeks cruising the south island, it's a photographers dream location...

Shiela, there's some great images in your pbase folder, the sun you saw makes me jealous! Aren't those Kea's amazing? At one spot we stopped, a couple landed on the other car our group was using, and he still wouldn't get off even when we drove away, he just hung on! Those beaks look frightening too...

Hey Andrew,

I didn't get a chance to say thanks for all the info you gave me - things got very hectic before the trip and I had to keep my head down. I've been back almost a week now from NZ after an awesome trip - the weather was great and photo opportunities aplenty! My D200 arrived just in time so I was able to give it a good field testing (it didn't disappoint). I've got almost 20 gigs of photos to sort so it may be a little while before I can post a selection here. If you're eager, I'm posting some of them one by one on my photolog
