Cool shots John . The first one looks great .
I think the 5th shot , the tail shot , would have looked better with more of the drag strip in frame .The strip fading into the distance kind of thing . Just my humble opinion :)

Where was that run at ? The trees mounted on a tyre rim .

Drifter, this was held about 60 ks away from Mt Gambier up in the vineyards of Coonawarra, it is an old airstrip that they close for the day and turn it into a drag strip. Was very hottish through out the morning and being sort of out on the edge of the vineyards was very smoky and hazy from the fires from over the border so this is why i cropped that shot as it was just all bright as i was trying to use a very low shutter behind the car to see if i could grab and distortion from the tires.

It was rainging when i left home and well cleard but later it looked very stormy and was about 30c and started raining and well that put an end to the day so we made it too eliminations and was cancelled.
My first time so was new to me.

John - excellent work as usual. Looks like a very successful day at the drags. I can almost smell the burning rubber and the fumes.

#5 does it for me :)
Hope the parachute worked at the end of the run :!:

Super sharp, super contrasty and superb captures, as usual John.

I like the varied positions you've shot at, esp behind the dragster - one I haven't seen before. :)
