Sunset - Burrard Inlet
Hi everyone. This is my first post and I thought I would share a couple of shots I took recently. Critique is certainly welcome.

Love the first of these. The old, disused bridge, as a sillouhette against the setting sun, just works. g.

I prefer number one as there is less background detail to take your attention away. You could maybe decrease the brightness a tad and increase contrast to pump up the colours a little. Nice though! 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Tottaly agree with you guys, the first one is the better of the two. I'm in the process of framing that one now... 11 x 14.
The second I just like, the colours are more subtle, but still appealing. I thought it would be interesting to put the two side-by-side since they were taken at the same spot, just on opposite sides of the structure.

I'm from this area too and I'm trying to figure out where on earth this is. I don't recognize it at all. Are they out towards Deep Cove? I've got some pretty cool pics of some posts in the Lower Lonsdale area of North Vancouver.
It's Barnett Marine Park technically, but the shot is out into Burrard Inlet.

Terrific first post, good stuff 
Love the mood and light in the first, might be tempted to lower the EV a smidge in yoru post processing as the bright parts of the sky seem hot to me, like the framing too, hmmm, now I'm wondering about cropping some of the top off... Lovely light... Bonza reflection... Agree with Raskill in that the background is too busy in the second one, but these would look good side by side on a wall... Aka Andrew
The first shot works really well, the second I find doesn't have the impact or atmosphere. Welcome to the forum, and thanks for posting.
