This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

As Big V mentioned in a previous post at the recent meet at the Adelaide Zoo I used the kit lens (18mm) to snap some shots of a male tiger. Here are the results.

I had quite of bit of trouble getting the white balance right. The thick glass I was shooting through gave a strong colour cast.
These have had a bit of cropping. Here is an example of the "full frame":
(For the ones who were there, who can tell me what I have photoshopped out of the last few images?)

The third pic is sensational!!! trying to work out whether the tiger's yawning or growling
Must be an older tiger, those teeth look pretty worn... especially the lower fangs.
Shame it wasn't a sunny day

Thanks ONV73C,
I thnk the tiger was just yawning, but he was bellowing a bit during the day.
Yes they think he is about 20 years old.
The white sky is a shame, but we might end up fighting harsh shadows on sunny days.

I can't give you a clue without giving it away to those who were there. Stay tuned.

Don't worry John, it will probably be a little while before I go in again.
I think their behaviour is more based on the weather than the audience. In warm weather they flake out a lot.

Daniel has photoshopped the big metal tower out of these. This tower is 15m high and will have two ropes connecting it to the orangutang enclosure

Correct!
You can see the large structure in this older wide shot.
It looked very strange springing from the top of the tiger's head, so had to go.
