This is a photo that was part of a failed Pano. I think it does fine by itself.

C&C Welcome.

Doug - I really love the muted colours in this shot - I even like it cropped (I scrolled on the monitor) to just above the tree line, giving a pano of just the distant mountains and the colourful sky :)

Would have loved to see the complete pano !

Chris this is the Southern part of Mosman. It's within walking distance from home, provided I have no trouble walking 650kms or so. It's a bit hard to make it for the early morning shots, I must admit. :)

Thanks Rel, your idea of a crop is a great one. I did a quick look the way you mentioned, and it would work very well.

I'll see if I can salvage some sort of pano... I had probs matching exposure, but I did get a very wide view.

Doug the layered composition and the pastel tones really make this image. I love the way the the slate grey coolness of the middle ground hills is separated by the warmth of the foreground tree tier the golden horizon. Terrific shot.
cheers

I really like the sky colour and subtle detail in the distant hills.

Looks like it would have been hard to expose right... Did you use Shadow/Highlights or any such tool on this image?

Thanks very much for the comments everyone. I like the layering effect too. I might see if I can get rid of the hang gliders ramp in the bottom left hand corner too. How anyone can run off a cliff is beyond my comprehension. Even with a hang glider.

NikonUser, I did need to use the shadow/highlights tool for this image. The foreground was a little dark.

Doug,

I agree with Rel. I think the rocks add little to the image and a crop of the bottom so the image started with the trees (not quite as severe as Rel suggests) would work a lot better IMHO

I love the rocks, but that's just me. I can't believe the different from my LCD to the my work CRT. On the CRT it looked but a little subdued, but now on the LCD it just sings!

Doug, what an unusual array of colours, almost surreal. It didn't quite come out on my monitor at work, but here at home - wow! I like it a lot!

Cheers
