Do not look at this (espacially after dinner) Extremly Ucky

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I had an small infection under my toenail that the doctor cauterized.

In my search for different subject matter everything is photographed.

I found it really difficult to get detail in the soft area of the fresh burnt flesh. It would have been easier if it had been someone else's toe.
With my toe I had to bend double and hold the camera steady while balancing.

no need for fake blood here!

The infection hurt like hell the treatment looks bad but was remarkably painless (once the local anesthetic kicked in)

I am not happy with the shot but I am not keen on taking it again just yet
Thanks for the hugs B&S I guess no one is going to kiss it better.

Then I guess you do not want details of the cauterization process or that the infection blocked the circulation requiring 3 times the expected amount of anesthetic?

Sorry but they would not let me take the camera with me into the surgery

You're kidding!
It looks worse than the anti-smoking gangrenous foot ad where all the toes are dropping off!
(PS - If you are totally incapacitated, can I have your camera gear?)

Why torture yourself by bending double to photograph your toe?
Just use a 300mm f 2.8.

My nephew had it done on his toe in January and has not healed 100% yet, something to look forward to

The DOF was bad enough with the 90mm macro and amputating the foot seemed a bit extreme

You are just lucky the shots I took in a leper colony are in a medical library in Canberra.

Lepers in remote indonesia in the early 70's they were pretty gross even by my standards.
