A recent fashion shoot I did

My wife did the hair and styling, I did photos and PP. I got some great advice and help from Colcam on the forums.... (These look fantastic in the real world thanks to his tweaking and really print well).

A few tech notes as this is a tog forum:
EOS 30D
20-70(ish) Sigma lense (can get exact details lense if asked)
Shot with a side soft light and reflector for bounce using speedlites
Photoshop

In #3 the sidelighting is a little hot. It's especially noticeable because of the lighter skin tonings of the model.

#s 2 and 4 work very well for me, but in #4, perhaps having the model use both hands might have enhanced the image? Don't know.

All of the images though look a little off to me in terms of the wb; I'm seing a "dirty" wb, which is suggestive that they're a bit too blue or green. Because of the darker tonings you've used, I can't pick up on any shadow details which would tell me exactly what I'm seeing, but the skin tones are definitely not as clean as what I think they could be.

That's fine if that's the effect that you're after, of course.

I do like something differnt. Very interesting mood from your lighting and i think the background you have used works very well for the images.

Thank you, yes # 1 is my fave as it's closest to the briefe of an 'oil painting'. I think I hit it with the light on that one. I am working this week on another shoot which I will show here when done... I think you'll like it also

Gorgeous work and if the brief was, as you say, an oil painting you have hit it the nail right on the head Gorgeous and a renaissance master #1 is beautifully executed

I really like what you have achieved with these shots. They do strike me as being a tad dark, but I gather that's sort of what you were going for. I think the mood and the poses are excellent, and kudos to your wife: the hair and make-up are wonderful.

#3 does seem a little harshly lit compared to the others, I actually don't mind it but it is a little inconsistent with the lighting of the rest.

But well done, inspiring shots.

Thank you all, I am really happy with them, particularly as they're my first real studio shoot. I've done a couple before this, but this was all new gear and my first serious attempt at getting it 'right'.

Of course there are things I'd do differently now, I'd make it grainier and I'd but bigger highlights on them (aka oil painterly style) but I'm really thrilled with them
