Landscape Snaps C&C AppreciatedThese shots were taken on the 400D, both Kit Lenses, no Tripod.

#1 and #2 are quite plain, I dont like the disturbing branch at #2, makes not really a difference there.
#3 is best IMO, very nice moody shades and rays of sunshine. #4 is good but lacks a little bit of touch in the shadow details, is either all gone or showing more through HDR.
yay! another 400D owner
![]() ![]() good pics, i especially like the one with the tablet, although god should have no say in this ![]()
Matt, Used the standard 18-55 that came with the camera. Probably should have gone out with the Zoom more... Cheers, -Rob.
Hmm, im not sure if i was doing the right thing, i was trying to photograph the isolated storm clouds, isolated rain underneath them... not sure how i could have made it a better picture really? -Rob.

hehe
![]() ![]() have u found the kit lenses are great but that gap 55-70mm is a damn killer, where the 18-55 is too wide and the 70-300 is too zoomy? its like u go to take a portrait, the zoom is like sticking the camera up there nose so u change lenses and the wide angle is like standing back 20mtrs! /end rant ![]()
The "tablet shot" is quite nice, but I think it would be improved by avoiding the OOF plant in the foreground, and getting all of the tablet sharp (the front is dropping out of focus).
You wouldn't have to stop the lens down (which would affect the background). I think just tweaking the focus closer slightly at the same aperture would do the job.
