Hi all,

Took a shot this afternoon of this little guy/gal. It was very small (about 2-3mm), and not too timid.. Not as sharp as I would have liked but there is a bit of a breeze here at the moment.

Critique appreciated...

Excellent macro of a beautiful insect there. Very nice colors.

What lens did you use? Also, how was the SB800 used, if at all.

Would love to see more macros from your side! Keep them coming.

Cheers,
Kamran

Hi kamran and thanks...

used the tamron 90mm in manual mode.. handheld 1/160 @ f22. the sb800 was direct flash without diffuser stopped down -1.

I'm sure you'll see more as it's only day 3 of me doing macro... so i'm hooked at the moment :D :D

There is no holding you back now Xerubus.
These are great.
I agree that wind is the enemy of macro work out doors.

Hey there Xerubus... out of interest, with that lens, how much working distance do you have to play with? I'm assuming that the tamron 90 must give you plenty as the macro the I have played with so far (either 50mm with tubes or 300mm with diopter) gives very little which would only spook subjects like this.
