Got up early Saturday morning and captured some reflections of the Lady Nelson resting at Elizabeth Street Pier in Hobart.

Just perfect light and spot for the shot, brilliant :D

My only pick is that the top tip of the boat is not showing...

Very nice image John. Like said I think I would prefer seeing the top of the mast, and maybe panned to the left a bit, but apart from those two things everything else just fits together nicely to create a beautiful image.

Oh, so very nice!!!

Makes me miss the time I worked at a little store at the bottom of Elizabeth Street, its a beautiful place.

I love the detail in the water, and the way you chose to frame the reflection, more than the top of the mast, strongly agree with your choice.

my vote for POTW too!!!

Thanks all for your comments. Yes the light was gorgeous. I got to the docks about 6.30am and the light came on about 7 for about 15 mins.

Wendell, I haven't got 100 more, but maybe 20 of different aspects of the docks. I'll put some more up when I get a chance. I'll be back to the docks again as soon as the conditions are right again. Believe it or not, there was about a 10 Kt breeze blowing, but the docks are very sheltered. With no wind it's like glass.

Owen and Yip, the top of the mast annoyed me a bit. I have a shot taken in portrait orientation that gets the top of the mast in and the reflection as well, but only the first boat. I prefer the perspective of the line of boats and the pier rather than the single boat one.

Cheers
John

Nothing to critique here, I'm just green with envy.
Great light, great subject, mirror reflections and tack sharp, gotta be happy with that one.
Lovely shot. :D
