Hello, took the new sigma 30mm 1.4 with me to The Hague, this was part of the shots I took at midday on Anzac day (4am in The Netherlands).
I am very happy with the nonflare, and it's a sharp lens, very versatile (replacing a film 50mm equivalent).
Please, let me know what you think (check our more detail in the original, link below).

Gee there's some detail in that shot Bruce. I'm impressed with the results. Must consider one of these when the next bout of lust hits.
Cheers
John

thanks John. I like this lens as its sooo light, compared to say 28-70.
I think I was working with 10-30s exposures, the two guys were riding past, and I had the flash in my hand, so manually fired it, and got a nice ghost of the two cyclists, who later returned to pose for me...

Bruce
That's superb and shows off the lens brilliantly. The tonal range is great and there's no apparent noise. The wonders of f1.4 - shot with a tripod?

I was very pleased. In the past, my zooms would have added distorted colored lens flare from those lights.
I wanted lots of detail from the gate, to the lighting rod, so was f11 for 13 secs. So, yes, definitely a tripod in use. I took it with me, as I knew the timesnap was 4am and I would have needed it.
