F1 night race in Singapore ?

Yeah, I know, this has been taken many times, but if the plans go ahead next year for a night race in Singapore, we'll be seeing more of this skyline at night

Bernie's threating to pull Melbourne unless it becomes a night race.

And yes, great image.

Nice image, great colours!

Night racing for F1 will be great. Bernie knows the public are getting bored with the current format, so a major change is required. I guess we'll see....

Thanks guys.

Yeah, read about Bernie's threats to the Melbourne race in the papers. After TV money. Sounds like a lot of the races in Asia might be night races - Singapore, Malaysia and possibly Australia, wonder if all the other will be night races too.

Nope, F1 is predominately for European markets, and as such us folk who live on this side of the planet mean very little. By having night races, it will also fit better with broadcast times in Europe.

Yeah, by all the other races, I meant all the other races in Asia - ie. China, Japan.

Thanks mate. It's actually taken from in front of the Esplanade. There have been some really good sunsets lately, think it'll last through June. I should really shoot this on a proper weeknight, so there'll be more lights on in the buildings.

Gorgeous shot!

Re : F1 : I suppose it won't matter if they have night races in Asia. I mean, I'm staying up from 11pm-1am to watch them already, so no big drama there. (In this time zone, it's the North/South American Grands Prix that are too inconvenient to stay up or get up for... could we give them early morning races to bring them in line?).

No, seriously, fantastic shot :D

I SERIOUSLY wish TEN would show all the races LIVE. The European races would be on at 10pm and over by midnight. And they were one of the stations complaining about sport on free to air TV - at least Fox Sports would show it live if they had it.

ATJ: if your internet connection is quick enough and you can put up with the reduced quality, you can usually use Sopcast to watch the races live on Star Sports Asia.

MCWB, thanks for the heads up on SopCast, interesting, I'll have to check it out and compare it to another ones I've seen before TVU Player.

No probs!

One of the nicest thing about the few live F1 broadcasts on television is that you can then use The Internet to stream live telemetry data off f1.com, showing lap splits and all the driver positions....

And from around 9pm Saturday night I won't be in range of any television reception. :( I can't really complain, though, as I will be diving on the GBR the next day. :D

This is one race I don't mind that the coverage is delayed.
