Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Work was off the other morning due to high winds so I headed down the coast.

Very nice Steve. What gear did you use to do the job?

Steve
#1 and #2 are great. Good use of DOF in #1 as already mentioned and great use of lines and space in #2 (and a well chosen crop). #3 though just lacks punch. I think the problem is there isn't a strong focal point so my eye flips between the skyline and waves, but doesn't really get stuck anywhere (if that makes any sense)

Bob,
they were all taken with my D200. The Tern was using a 70-200VR@ 135mm f6.3, the Wavebreak Island pano was using a 10.5 fish eye and the Burleigh shot was using a 12-24 @24mm.

Bindii,
this is the area that has been sugested for the AW get together. Lots of variety of subjects .

I would be intersted in some comments about the composition of #3 if anyone is keen. It does and doesn't work for me but I can pin down what it is that doesn't work

Thanks Peter,
I know what you mean. It is a great outlook but I just don't seem to be able to capture it (yet!!!)

With more wild weather around Sydney and roaring westerlies is Brisvegas later this week I might get a chance at a reshoot

1 and 2 for me. Depth of field in one and the calmness in two
