Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Noosa Holiday/learning to Photoshop
I've just recently bought PhotoShop Elements - I know, it's not as good as CS3, but with a kid on the way, I just can't afford it. I was offered a free download/pirate copy of CS2, but my conscience got the better of me.
So anyway, here are my first attempts at playing with some scenic photos I took in Noosa way back in January. C&C needed! Please! I was trying to teach myself about long exposures/waves over rocks etc, so there's no real point to the pictures besides that.

PhotoShop Elements is 90% of PShop. The other 10% doesn't count. Nice work! It's not the tools you have that's important...it's how you use the tools you have. I use about 25% of the functionality of PShop for most of my P/processing. In some respects these tools we use are like musical instruments. They take practice and skill to get the result we are after.

fair enough then - at $125, I'm not complaining!
I've noticed that curves control is way different, and seemingly much more limited than the full version. But the software that came with the camera allows me to muck around with curves reasonably well.
