f4, 1/200s, spot met
sb800 top right (with homemade softbox)

Very nice, my only criticism would be that there's too much dead space at the top of the image..it needs a serious crop :)

Pls remember that according to the FAQ and to adhere to making this place better for all, we request that all images are 800pixels on the widest side.

I agree about too much space above.
I dont think this is an orchid.
My only other comment which isnt much of a problem, but the petal at the back washes out a little detail of the 2 petals inside. Are they white on the inside or is that the light washing out a little colour. again this isnt a real problem though.

My flower ID aint too crash hot either, but I used to grow orchids so I knew it wasnt 1 of those.
How do you find the Sigma 150mm ... Ive been thinking about the Sigma 180mm f4 macro. Last I looked they didnt make the 150mm for my camera.

realy liking the 150mm. i love the extra reach i can get and its tack sharp when you want it to be. also very quiet, is IF and build quality is excellent. having come from the tamron 90mm f2.8 though, i must say it's quite heavy in comparison.

Looks well worth the effort!! The black background suits for a dramatic shot, I'm wondering if a white background might also make for a nice high key softer shot?? Not as dramatic but if that flower is still alive might be worth a go.
