Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Hi all,
Took a few pics at this years ARIA Red Carpet today. It was in very difficult situations. Mind you I was situated rather close but had a couple of secuirty guys right where I wanted to shoot. As you do. Anyway, this is what I got. I was also very close to the Daily Telegraph Photog and I did notice one of them 'had' a 70-200VR......until she droped it and cracked the front element. She tried putting back on her D2H but had trouble focusing. I wonder why.......
These were taken with my D200 + 70-200VR.

Some great shots there Bill.
The Missy Higgins one is the best for me..... looks like you were sneaking a shot and got caught...... Nice eye contact.

I quite like all of these. #1 the security guards add to the shot the way you have managed to frame it. They don't obscure the main subject but add context of the event, very well done given they were 'in the way'.
In the others the exposure looks good despite the bright background. It would have been easy to end up with underexposed subjects rather than a pleasantly blown background.

Thanks everyone,
Here are a couple more with the type of competition you're up against on getting the best photos.
This was the woman that dropped the 70-200VR. Ouch. She was about 6ft along side me with this big bazooka.
Hey Asho, not the greatest photo, but this was all I got on Nicole
Cheers,
Bill
