I dont mind these, but I have to say the last stands out but not in a good way, its so flat and just doesn't gell with the other posted.
great to see the flash kit out already!
third is the pic for me. time of day, or your shutter speed, gives a nice blue sky, and seperates her hair and background well, compared to first two. that dress is smokin, forth pose shows that best. that's it, im booking a shoot with my location kit, need to get out there more, thanks for sharing ![]()
I like the angle and composition on two the best, but I do prefer the lighting etc on three. I couldnt put my finger on why, but Oz explained it perfectly. for my inexperienced eye, the colouring on the model just doesnt look even from top to bottom, ie her skin colouring, if that makes any sense.
Lovely work Matty! Dear Santa ........ good is NOT Bindii.
4 is a wonderful pose, but the colours are washey.. Bit more post should correct this?
3rd overall grabs me the most Awesome shots Matt ![]()

i was a little cut cos i really liked number 4 myself. but ive had a bit of a play around, and maybe this is something everyone will like better? ![]() MattyO

Matt, considering I havent even managed to achieve this sort of work, I wouldnt feel cut, I think everyone was just trying to help with feedback. I think overall you did a great job.
Dear Santa ........ good is NOT Bindii.

Mat
That girl and dress is smokin, and the first three really give the glamour and glitz that match the style that the model is made up. Sorry, but i join the queue of thinking number 4 is just a shot, is just does not jump like the first three and just does not match the model. In the reposted version her legs and bum have gone shinny, so I prefer the first one, maybe just a tad blacker? PS they all bet the day lights out of any of my shots. Cheers Waz
MORE CONTRAST!? you guys are crazy!
![]() Sandy Feet: Setup was: - 1 x hot model in stunning dress - 1 x city overlooking the river - 1 x d200 on tripod - 1 x remote studio strobe with soft box (however, you can probably get the same result just using a speed light. Settings: Because you are trying to expose the city with a Long shutter speed, and teh model with the strobe you need teh camera on the tripod. Set the camera to a highish iso... i used iso400, and a low apature.. in that picture is was 2.8. Meter for the background, and then take a picture... you'll notice the model/forground will be in complete shadow. We use the flash to bring the model/forground to an equal exposure. Be carefull tho ISO400 and f2.8 it won't take much for the forground to be over exposed. Just play around with the flash positions and power till you get a well exposed histogram. The shutter speed in the night ones were pushing around 1-1/2 seconds, but don't worry too much about motion blur in the model, as the flash duration is only 1/1000 of a second or something similar and it should freeze motion, but try and keep the model still so you can keep the detail in the hair and stuff. I hope this helps explain it a little better ![]() MattyO

I love the first ones... but have to agree on the last... it doesn nothing for me at all.. even the second version... sorry Matty...
but if its any concillation I think that all the others are first class and worthy of any fashion magazine! ![]() The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
