Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Hi, Just posting a few images i've taken since I got my new lenses (EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM) Interested to know what people think, and any suggestions for improvement, be it post processing, or during the photography process (composition, exposure, DOF etc) To view any larger view my flickr gallery http://www.flickr.com/photos/silencer_rh/ - there are also multiple photos belonging to the same batches as those above if any in particular grab your attention.

I think the first image is outstanding and the lens is doing what the 50mm is capable of. It's probably the nicest lens that can be put on a camera.
Regards

Interesting images Silencer. Did you notice the red bar across the top of the screen when you posted the images, exceeds the guidelines by a little bit?

First one is a cracker! Gotta love that 10 - 20mm lens! and Lmao at the mouse... although I suspect it wasn't alive at the time of shooting.. I also like the car bonnet one and the lens one... both are such lovely clean crisp images... but sorry the other two aren't doing anything for me at all.. you may spank me now..
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...

Sorry Glen, I noticed it but only read in regards to dimensions (even double checked each image for some reason, even though all are the same dimensions) - somehow completely missed total image cap - sorry!

No problem Silencer, we put the notice up about an hour before you posted as we thought it would stop many of the larger posts which are so difficult for people in regional Aus to download (just have a look at some of the low speeds in the "test your speed" thread viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26619 ). You get the award as the first to miss it If you have any ideas how we could make it easier to read we are all ears

I think I might have loaded the page before the regulation was changed then? I clicked create thread then opened a whole heap of threads from "new posts" (about 50 or 60) and slowly read thru those before actually putting any content into mine. See if anyone else misses it or perhaps a sticky for a month or so just to notify regarding the slight change?

Love the first, fourth and last picture. Great work and good use of clarity - very clear and crisp pictures! love it, James

#4 & #5 are my favorite, great photo with the mouse, good depth of field with a nice washed out background. all you need is a caption for the mouse one and you have a ready made "motivation" poster to hang in your kitchen....."Please sir, may i have some more!!" Adding a black border to your print with text at the bottom.....hell i would buy one of those to put in the kitchen
