Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

With summer approaching, so are the afternoon storms. Love this time of year. Not setup with the right gear anymore for taking lightning shots, but happy with how these came out. Just have to find a more interesting foreground in the future. Like the effect the GND filter has on the clouds for this one. Time for me to go inside... bit of a sook when it comes to lightning cheers

They're great. What's your shutter speed on the second one?

The 2nd is something deserving of a huge print ..but the filter on the 1st is interesting especially from the horizon up - think I would crop above the red 'fence?' as I don't like the effect it has on green subjects. DebT

nicely done!
I would desaturate + reduce greens in the first. The colours don't suit the mood.

I like the colours in that first one and appreciate how much harder it is to get a day time shot as compared to the relative ease of the night shots. Well done.

Thankyou so much. I was trying to explain today at work that anyone with even a mobile phone camera can catch lightning at night, but it's not as easy to get daytime lightning. The chaps didn't believe me on both accounts. Over 100 frames to get this single shot... continuously adjusting my exposure. Doesn't help when the sun is setting extremely quickly and forcing you to make sure you understand your theory.
