I never tire from photographing flowers. They present a wonderful challenge and the time spent has a Zen like quality about it.

I took this photo a few years ago and I found it a few days ago. I didn't think it was a good photo so I decided to play with Photoshop filters; this is the result.

My newest friend, whom I have called Cecil. Unless he is a she, then she will be called Cecilia. Actually I think it's a she because she doesn't like having her photo taken. Nikon V1/30-110mm through lounge room window.

I was up in the blue hills over the weekend and managed to catch up with MrDarcy, I'm sure he enjoyed the walk down into the valley and up again. We visited Empress Falls and the two little cascades that are just below. However I was using my Sony A7 + LA-EA4 combination testing my newly arrived Minolta AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4D. It appears to front focus slightly but I suspect I have the right micro-adjust dialed in now, other than that there were no real complaints about IQ.

Images from a recent trip to the Great Ocean road area around Port Campbell in Victoria, this area is a Meca for photographers and indeed it is one i really love in any weather, so in cold blustery showery conditions i forced my creaking body up and down endless flights of stairs to area's i wanted to take pics, with my D800e tripod and ND filters i wanted to get some moody sea shots these are the first attempts at post processing them

I've been thrown into the tango world (yet again), not that I'm complaining or anything. It's one of my favourite things to photograph.

I noticed this modern sculpture outside the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. I found out it is called Pamphlet (by Bruce Reynolds 2012). In shape, it is similar to a cut diamond, but its patterns remind me of those of quilt stiches. Kind of crazy, but at the same time strangely alluring...

Had a look at the above competition now hanging in Hyde Park. As you all know Rodney was a finalist and it was great to see his pic against the blue sky. I picked Rodneys image as being amongst the top best 3 so Congratulations Mate....it's a beautiful photograph.
