Whilst traversing the land of peanut and jelly sandwiches, I happed upon a nice evening in Redondo Beach. I have an early flight out of here tomorrow morning. San Diego yesterday was in the 90s. Very pleasant indeed. I have hardly clicked the Fuji shutter in the last 3 weeks, but took a few shots today:

I've managed to finally secure a space for a studio in Hong Kong. Here are some images from a couple of test sessions.

I am looking at several led light options. Obviously, one of the considerations is how much light the led panel emits.
Some companies list their products specifying out put via "lux"
Others list Watt, W.
Others use lumens...

My questions: How to measure/compare the lightin ...

I have a Flashpoint Rovelight 600 monolight. I would like to take it to the beach for engagement photos and wedding photos.
The only problem is that it is a little bit top heavy. The battery is in the head unit itself.
I would like to use the light on a manfrotto light stand and a medium size softbox.

I am just wondering what size of sandbag do I need? What is your recommendation? We often shoot engagement sessions ans wedding portrait sessions on the beach. Wind is an issue.

I'm heading, with trepidation, back into video land. I've shot quite a few videos over the years but only with either my old 5DMkii, or iphone. I picked up a brand new GH4 last week for, in total, about $700 AUD, a bargain in my calculations. I have an Olympus 45mm to go with it but need something of a normal lens. The obvious choice would be the 12-35 Panasonic, which sports IS. Another option is the new Sigma 18-35 F1.8 which is roughly the same price as the 12-35, but would need the new Metabones adaptor to work, which is expensive.
