For winning the peoples choice in the recent Australian Life photo competition. It's not quite the $10,000 first prize....but it shows that the people have better judgement than the judges...(what were the judges thinking?).
I knew you had submitted a quality image. Well done Rodney....and there is always next year!

Grand kids are a delight. You have fun, hype them up, then hand them back to their parents. Awesome. The V1 is also a barrel of fun. For a $280 combo, it's hard to beat.

I'd not managed to shoot the starry sky the night before so I was hoping a sunrise shoot at the same location would satisfy me.

It was just a five minute walk from where we were staying so I set the alarm for 4AM the night before planning for a 5:20AM sunrise and arriving at the location my usual one hour before.

What I hadn't factored in tho was that the change of daylight savings in New South Wales happened overnight so in fact sunrise was going to be at 6:20AM (effectively an hour later). I didn't really know this till I got to the locatio ...

Havn't posted anything here in ages so.... here's something from last weekend...

I've not shot moonlit landscapes at night very often and truth be told I wasn't actually intending to this night anyway...

We were all away up on the mid north coast of New South wales near Coffs Harbour for a family get together on my wifes side.

I liked the look of some potential rocky candidates I found on Google maps and it must have been fate because when I asked my wife where we were staying it turned out to be the closest place to this location - Bonus!! ...

Hey guys/gals.

The ticker up the top says I last logged on 20 Jun 2013. :)

I've been busy, I'm sorry. Also my new non-photography hobbies have been taking up valuable time. I used to play a trumpet, but late last year I taught myself to play Tenor Saxophone and I have been fastidiously playing that ever since. Such that I now play in 3 bands, a Swing band, a concert band and a society orchestra. Also I have been doing lots of landscaping and garden work on ...

I finally got to go to Mt Anon after many years of promising myself to do so, and was surprised at what I had been missing. A great venue for a forum meet/shoot as the best of it is compact, easy to get around, lots of variety, café, seats and tons of eye candy for photographers. These gardens, (near Campbelltown), are world class.
If anyone is interested in a meet/shoot, then lunch at Camden then indicate your preferred date in this post. Entry to the gardens is free.
Here are a few of my images from the day
