Quotes of the day
What greater thing is there for two human souls that to feel that they are joined... to strengthen each other... to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories. ~ George Eliot

I have been using Big W canvas prints a fair bit over recent months. If you get them at a special price, they are excellent. Maybe not as good as my local pro printer, but outstanding value. I have maybe bought 5-6 this year and am happy with each one. They are produced at Glenn Innes (northern NSW) and shipped free to your nearest store.

FWIW, today's deal is 60cm x 30cm canvas for $29, or 100cm x 50cm for $59.

Leaving Auckland earlier today, I am ensconced here in the Qantas Club in Sydney after missing my Coffs flight. Thanks Qantas. (If anyone nearby needs a coffee, come on down...). Going through some photos from last week and here's a few more.

Here's an admission. I really like Fuji's outstanding colours/tones for people photos, but I am enjoying Canon's colour for landscapes. Also, the Canon 7Dii is one tough camera. It doesn't have the supposedly brilliant Sony FF sensor, but I think it's more than good enough for what I need to shoot, and th ...

I took my life into my own hands this morning, but there was a one lane bridge with a little cut out area in the middle. Giant rigs were tearing down the highway. I sprinted (cue laughs), reached the cutout, and took the photo. I then had to cling to the edge of the cutout while numerous trucks sped past. Eventually I made it back to the car. All for a lousy photograph.

After a pristine day yesterday, I am ensconced in my Queenstown hotel room, watching the rain cascade down the street. Oh well, time to share a few pictures from the south Canterbury region from yesterday:

Had my drone a week now & slowly (VERY) figuring out how to use the camera... Processing the right way has been my issue.
Here I tried some 5 bracket shot HDR which I have never tried with my DSLR so it's all new territory.
Plainly the lighting nature provided was far from ideal

The rest f ...
