I'm a bit undecided about this last one since it's pretty tightly cropped at the top (nothing but clouds with VERY blown highlights, but I couldn't force myself to toss the shot since I like the detail in the crater.

Stubbsy in NZ - Pt 7Well it's been a while since my last group of NZ pics so here are some shots taken of the volcanic area in Tongariro National Park. These were all taken during a flight over the area.

They are all fantastic. Volcanoes really interest me and you've captured them brilliantly.

this is your best set
amazing it looks like another planet what sort of plane were you in if these were taken through a window they really clean and sharp
Awesome stuff Peter, this is a great and truely unique view, must of been awesome to experience first person.
I'm always too cheap to pay for a plane ride when in NZ.
![]() These are great shots Peter, they look awesome. Only thing I would change is crop out a bit of the sky in the first one. The focus is the lake and surroundings and the sky does not add that much to it, IMHO, thanks for sharing, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. That is too good!! Makes me want to travel
![]() I'm amazed how the shot at f/2.8 of the lens still showed up with THAT sharpness, how much USM did you applied there Peter?
Wow definately your best ones yet Peter. These images sell NZ! Excellent stuff.

Impressive. Nice to see the area from the air. Certainly a different perspective from what you see on the ground.
Excellent work Peter.

Lake Taupo by StubbsyI've just looked at Lake Taupo, Stubbsy. They're great & now NZ is on my travel destination wish-list!
Cheers, Jules
These have had very little sharpening. I shot these all at f 2.8 for one very simple reason. I wanted the fastest possible shutter speed since the plane (a Twin Otter) bounced all over the shop and I wanted to minimise my chance of a blurred shot due to movement. Given my subject was a fair way off the DOF tradeoff was not a factor so for me 2.8 was a no brainer. Peter
