Wow Birddog. You've just hit the impressive milestone of 10,000 posts.
Gary has asked that we only comment on significant posting milestones (ie one's ending in 000) - I guess this one well and trully qualifies since it's got even more zeroes
Just to put that post count into perspective, as of this writing that's almost as many as the combined total posts of the next two highest posters (Gary + sirhc55 = 10558). This place DEFINITELY is what it is in large part because of your tireless and selfless efforts.
You and your charming wife graciously host our Sydney mini meets, feeding the masses stomachs and their lens lust at the same time.
You act as conduit to Poon and other suppliers of equipment needed by us and deliver it to us at incredible prices with no thought on your part to derive a profit from this endeavour. In fact you take time away from your business activities to do this for the benefit of the forum.
You prod us to participate in other activities and are always there to help us out when we have problems with gear, or lack of knowledge.
And finally, as one who has the honour to count you amongst my friends, you're a bloody good bloke as well.
I look forward to the next 10,000 posts.
Thank you for everything you have done for me and the forum as a whole.
Edit: And interestingly you broke the forum software. Your post count was reset to 0 in the Author area at the side of your posts when you hit 10,000 (although it still shows correctly in the member list !!!!

congrats birgdog...always a fountain of knowledge on this forum...
ps if he is back to 0 posts ... does that mean he cant offer the bargains in the bargain section until he reaches 50 again? not that that would take long... :

No, the software isn't broken.
It's been specially set up to imitate the behaviour of a D70 when it hits 10000 images.

Your thoughts and comments are part of what makes this forum such a great and enjoyable place!!
