Hong Kong Photos before Christmas. (dial up warning)

Yes was staying at The Sheraton, I can highly recommend it.

Didn't get any new toys though, not through lack of trying, what I was after was either out of stock or too expensive.

Birdy's prices really are very competitive with either HK or Singapore. Although I was offered a D2X at Sim Lim Square for $4800 AU. But unfortunately it was at the wrong end of the holiday and I'd spent up too big to take advantage.

Cheers

Tony

John,

yes thank you I was agonising over the hotel being the first visit to Honk Kong. The Sheraton is right next to The Peninsula with what must be identical views.

Tony

the D2X is on the list but It'll be a few months now. :(

I was there at Singapore just before Xmas, Sim Lim Square offers the best bargain for all electronic gadgets. I bought my CF 512mB Kingston Pro for about $30AUD!! Definitely worth visiting there IMO :)

Transcend 1Gb card 80x, better value than Kingston Pro is $95.00
Why should we bother? and who's going to use the 512Mb as their main storage now?

Nice shots, brings back fond memories when I was a kid, christmas time or lead up was the best as all the building are all lit up, I think they have toned it down these couple of years from what I hear.

Yep the price of memory card has gone down a lot recently.

I bought this 512Mb CF for my old Canon P&S 3.2megpixel which I thought it was more than enough at that time.

But for as little as $30AUD, IMO it was a bargain :)
