Most of the rest from NZG'day again,
Told ya I'd badger y'all ![]() ![]() These are all fairly quickly done, only spent a few minutes on each so I'd love to hear your comments and critique etc. so I can learn and improve... Cheers. http://mudder.smugmug.com/gallery/1142432 Aka Andrew
Hi Andrew,
I like your gallery too, nice places to go and do photos. And the photos of the glacier, I like a lot. I've got a (silly) question: are you expected to bring your own cold weather gear or do they cater for people who don't ? Cheers, CD
G'day Christian, Believe me that's actually a VERY good question... The tour company provides all the wet weather gear, jackets, pants, boots even socks... We thought we had good hiking boots so we said we'd use our own boots... BAD MISTAKE! I didn't take any other boots and my boots filled with cold water during one hike and took a couple of days to dry out, in hindsight USE THEIR BOOTS AND SOCKS, that way after the hike your stuff is nice and dry... The smell of wet boots etc in the various lodges and in the car the next day was errr ummm, powerful... ![]() Was surpisingly toasty warm in the gear, was wet with sweat afterwards, the guides just wore shorts and a t-shirt ![]() Aka Andrew
some great shots! looks like a good spot to visit...
quick question... which lens are you using for the wide (i.e. 12mm) shots? nice sharp and contrasty images... cheers http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.
Thanks Andrew,
I feel much more comfortable. See, I probably would show up in shorts whenever I may get there and the operators are prepared. Hopefully I may have a chance to get there and experience ... Cheers, CD
G'day, All 12mm stuff was done with the Nikkor 12-24. I only used the 18-70 when I needed above 24mm but less than the 80mm of the 80-400 Aka Andrew
There are some beautiful images in your gallery. There is just 'something' about mountains with snow on top of them that looks so appealing. The glacier pool is like nothing i have ever seen before.

Great photos Andrew,
I'm really jealous now and to have Tom as your guide, great. NZ truely is a photographers paradise. Nothing wrong with Oz, but having those mountains just adds that little bit extra "je ne sais quoi!" Enjoyed them all, got to go back to the south island now ![]() thanks for sharing.
