Sunday at Newcastle baths, cropped tight from all sides. I like the way the -tri- theme works here:

This guy did a whole series of aerials for me. He told me that I should shoot him bridge jumping sometime. Crazy backflips from stupid heights. Fun.

That's the loosest "tight crop" I've ever seen in my life - looks pretty wide to me.

Good pic and when you get it cropped it will be even better. Took for ever to load and I'm on ADSL and the file is tiny. Maybe it's me.

Another one, different angle. I never have seen a boy so young smoking. He looked 9! He was more keen than the other guy...

Loose on the central focal point, tight on the whole scene. I cropped quite a lot out!

excellent the line of sight is great and the 2 in the background lead your eye to the subject, this is skillfull composition

i notice many outstanding aspects of your work, it's always so well exposed contrasty and dam sharp, do you shoot manual or a, s, p mode on that d2x?

Mostly, A, secondly M, rarely S.

Appreciate your kindness. Once more I have got to say I loved your Fred Bare girls images. I even asked at DJ's today if they had the winter Fred Bare branded brochure

EDIT: Also - I used channel mixer for BnW conversion.

interesting

i always thought aperture mode on the d2x couldn't get the shutterspeed right as in fast enough for moving subjects so i switched to complete manual

but htis shot was taken in on a bright day so guess it makes sense, as i usually shoot in lowlight

i better re-visit aperture priority mode on the d2x

otherwise you have dam good technical skills balanced out with creative flair

No idea what -tri- theme is, is that some uber photog jargon? Anyway that first shot is awesome, I hardly comment on pics because I have nothing to say, but I just had to post to say that first shot is awesome. Cheers.

Its a technical term explaining that there are 3 people to oneside of the pic and 3 people on the other side of the pic. In this case 3 boys and 3 girls

Heath - the first shot is great, love many aspects of it. The tri theme, the suspended moment in time and the un-natural position the guy is in. Great!

My only negative is the board is cutting that guys head off a little... but given the type of shot this is, I can forgive you

True. You can go further into it by saying the jumping boy's body fits into a triangle, the -three- main focal points are at each point in a triangle...

People have interesting beliefs in the power of 3 and the shape of the triangle. Take one look at a pyrmaid!
