Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

A lovely lovely shot there, unfortunately most people won't be able to view it easily as Pixspot doesn't play nicely with the forum anymore.
Do a quick search on the forum and you'll see the threads, but this is the main one.

I can host the shot temporarily if you like, as it's definitely worth sharing!

That's the trick, if you have view it already then you can see it but those flying blind to the thread, just get a little "Go to Pixspot.com" message.

yeah probably should have thought about it more when I was taking the picture. My wife was just sitting there and just happend to be in the photo and I thought that it did not look bad so I told her not to move for a while. Also it was a 15 sec exposure so if she was any closer she would have looked blured. I will have to play around with it more next time

Yeah I do go to uow and yes that is just my email adress. It is just one less thing to remember so I use it for user names for lots of stuff. I did carry all my camera gear in (just body, two extra lenses, flash, and a p+s in the bag and a tripod straped to the bottom). I just have a backpack camera bag and so it is okay to carry. Also have a fairly light tripod that I take with me.

Cool, :) Former UOW student myself, went I walked up there with my point and shoot it was just after heavy rain so found the going quiet treacherous also did a little rock climbing to get to harder to reach places. I might be a little more reserved with my new gear :) (If you don't mind me asking, what do you study at uni?)

Excellent shot, I wasn't aware that such a place down Maq Pass existed! I'm usually going for a blat up/down the Pass on my motorbike so I guess I could be excused

There's some lovely places I'd love to explore down in the highlands, just need to get out there and explore!

Lovely shot dm52. There is a softness together with a strong sense of scale provided by your composition and astute placement of the young lady in the scene. :)
cheers
