Geehi Reserve - Kosciuszko National Park...

Here's another from our camping trip, taken on the south western corner of the park in a place called Geehi. Circular Polariser practically lived on the camera, and I know there is a big variation in the sky but I like it. Also would have liked better seperation of the foreground trees from the background hills, however I didn't have a ladder with me. :)

Cheers,
Owen.

Thanks big pix. Travelled about 1200km's from Monday - Friday. It was a great trip and a great place to visit if you're into camping. I'll be writing up in some detail for ausphotos and putting it up later if you're interested on the specifics.

Cheers,
Owen.

G'day mate,

Looks like you're seeing some magic Oz country-side... Wow, the color sat is bold but nice in this and the color layering works well... Looking forward to your trip details in your forum... Going on a camping trip around the Craig's hut area in a couple of weeks (can't wait :) ), your hut post really caught my eye...

Hi Owen,

did you have a good trip ?
We went on a day trip to Yarrangobilly caves and the Tumut III powerstation.

Inside the self guided Yarrangobilly cave:

Tumut III powerstation

The technical details for Tumut III powerstation are grande:
6 turbines @ 250 MegaWatt each. :o
15 thousand volts transformed to 330 thousand volts. :o
Water flow for each turbine is 99 cubic meters per second :o

The pipes in the pictures can house a double decker bus :o

Hi Christiand. The trip was great. We also went to Yarrangobilly caves and I was able to take my tripod in there so took a lot of slow shutter shots, but I haven't had a chance to process any of them yet. The caves were nice... but the road... whew.

Great photo, Owen. Very saturated colours.

Christian - excellent photos. Love the perspective in the powerstation shots.

Actually on further study I *really* like this image!
Why:
It shows the three (and a bit) levels of vegetation
*The temperate forests in the foreground
*Subalpine bush
*Alpine heaths

and the bit: at the very top of that ridgeline is the alpine feldmark... the stuff that just should not grow...

Thanks very much guys. This is one of my favourite images so far... I've got a few variations of the same scene, but I just like this one. I'm having 'net troubles, but I'll try to view your images MHD.
