B&W.....Old Memories.....The ever-present-past

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

B&W images from a present-past or past-present?

I really like this collection of shots.

#1 Has a real vinitage feel to it

#2 I didn't pick up on it first, but this is a very unusal and humour shot

#3 Great trumpet shot, i'm a bit distracted by the sax, but overall a nice capture

#4 There is something very intriguing about this shot, the more you look the more little details becomes apparrent

Images 2&4 work the best for me.

In particular number 4 the light and focus is really quite exceptional in my opinion.

I like them all. I agree with Chris, "Blurred Memories" is fanastic. Beautifully framed.

Yeah I like......would of liked to see a little grain added to them though to get that "authentic" feel

The "The ever-present past " is a classic view, not sure on the toning hue...

"Blurred memories" is absolutely great, Love the framing and the capture of the moment in such a soft, relaxed or natural way... This immediately caught my eye out of these...

"Music from the past" is a great angle, bummer about the sax in the way, nice BW tonings...

"Random thoughts from the past......" is a very moody and interesting image, makes me think of all sorts of things and scenarios...

Blurred memories and Random thoughts from the past are well setup and executed images, both of these are very catching, the first for softness and dreamy light/time, and the last for thinking and brooding...

What could I say......
Thank you very much!

Yeap,
I Know,
The ever-present past Does Not Exist.
Blurred memories....
..are blurred memories and with a bit of music from the past, you could have random thoughts.......

Cheers
