Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I was hoping to give the 600 a try out but we had a distinct lack of birds although i did manage to capture a "papa smurf" ... 
on the walk along the water front we passed a golden orb spider ...
on the edge of the mangroves we passed this colourful plant ...
We moved on to Boondall and walked across the flood plain past these seed heads ...
unfortunately there was little to see from the bird hide ...
This bloke was well set up for fishing ...
The bright pink of this plant really stood out in the sea of green grass ...
After our magnificent BBQ we headed down to a small waterhole for some night pics and since i didn't have a decent flash i will let the others show the better shots but these may not have been captured by the others ...
A floating spider...
and rel capturing a dragonfly ...

the fisheye treatment of the bird hide works well
I went to try the local hide at the local wetlands. only seemed useful at first light in my case.
even late in the day when the waterfowl were feeding, the setting sun spoiled it.
nice capture of the colourful plant too.

Pity the 600 didn't get a run, but really like the other shots. The flower and the seed head are great, plus the spider on the water.
Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

Hi Shane - was a pleasure to finally meet you, and put a name to a face (and to a monster truck  ) Damian didn't even realise you took the fisheye shot - wicked !! My absolute favourite is the mistletoe shot - the gorgeous luminous orange flower - beautiful !!!!!
Papa smurf looks shitty doesn't he ???? LOL
