Personally I think that the lens flare adds something to this shot. The lady walking and her shadow as well as the line of water all complement the lens flare to me.
What are your thoughts?

Lens flare - is it always a bad thing?
I saw the water coming and turned around 180degrees to quickly snap this... didn't have time to sheild the sun, but I really like this image.
Personally I think that the lens flare adds something to this shot. The lady walking and her shadow as well as the line of water all complement the lens flare to me. What are your thoughts?
Owen - if everyone stood inside the square photography would be boring - well done I like the composition on this shot

Interesting to see your views guys. I remember reading an article in australian photography about using lens flare creatively - but hardly any of their photos did much for me. Just a matter of different tastes I guess

I like the shot, but I think there is just a bit too much flare and it over powers things. I'm all for trying to use flare in a creative way. I think you did remakably well to capture the momnet Owen. I like this image. The composition is superb. The foaming tide line really does the magic.

Hi Paul. The flare in those shots really do suit the mood of the images. I looked at mine afterwards and it just looked out of place!
marco: I have a thing for foaming water lines, I just think they are a great element to a photo. They're a pain to get sharp though because they come at you at some speed. 1/100th of a second was not quick enough to get this shot as sharp as I'd like: 
very good capture........ but be brave and get a little lower.........
