We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Been a very long while since I've posted anything...
Went for a drive to Shenandoah National Park today, about 40 miles away. Sunny when I left Manassas, cloudy as I neared the park... rained as I got to the summit. Typical ... 
Still I manged the following shot between showers, looks more impressive 3000 pixels wide. Elevation is 3380ft ASL, only covered the first 30 miles in 2 hrs, still have a further 70miles to explore. Looking forward to spring.
Lens: 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5 DX
Exposure: 1/160 sec - F/9
Sensitivity: ISO 200
Image has minimal PP basically crop and resize, recalculated WB. Overall I'm happy with the result, it certainly was great to get out and about after winter ! Certainly a bit different than the Mt Lofty ranges in Adelaide

My Aussie mate lives near the Shenandoah with his wife on a river. Looks like a great spot.

Been there, great place especially in the fall. The whole area is steeped in civil war history and very interesting. Max

Thank you all for the positive comments.
That was my first visit, I can't wait to go back again later in spring when things start to green up. It will be amazing. The park is 100 miles long and 20 miles wide, so I've only driven 1/3rd of it down the middle and then there are the walking trails... I get the feeling I'll be up there quite a bit, thankfully I bought an annual pass.
Kipper: Any idea on which town ? There are heaps along the face of the Shenandoah Nat Park. People in Washington are moving out of the CBD in droves and into the country, so to speak. Where I am here in Manassas the population has doubled in 10 years, so has the housing.
Ozimax: Well I'm here at least until July, most likely Christmas. Are there any special places that you found interesting here ? I've found a few but Shenandoah certainly was the best photo opportunity so far. The Potomac river also sounds like it might offer some others.
Oneputt: Ok looks like flickr will reduce your images to 1024 wide no matter what I upload, so that's at least twice the pixels that it had originally. I think I've also figured out how to embedd the larger image into the link, that is something useful ! I hope that this is an improvement over my previous post.

psionic - that is one serious National Park
I like the shot for it's mystic, of course created by the rain.
A pity about the weather for you, as I imagine it would be truly magnificant scenery when the weather is fine, and look forward to your shoots when visiting next. fozzie

Good shot of the area, appears a bit low on saturation but would say at this time of year the surroundings are a bit dull and flat
