D2x SensorI am posting this image not because it is any good but to demonstrate the amazing sensor on the D2x. I shot this directly in to the sun and it has not ben PP'ed. Detail in the foreground and no blown highlights...amazing.

The lens was a Sigma 10-20mm. 1/320s at f8. No CPL.

Yes but a true example would be a 100% crop ... say down around the lower left, in around the rocks ... to check for shadow detail, of course
