Rel,
beautiful composition in the first one and exposure and lighting are spot on in the 2nd. It is very hard to get such even lighting on white flowers. Well done Steve

Thank you Steve
![]() The first one - the leaf - I was really pleased with ! Taken this morning with the sun behind, illuminating the veins ...... I think I'll take my first plunge and print on canvas - I think it'll look pretty cool ![]() Rel Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

rel, if you are printing big, I would think about cloning the black thingy at lower right.
may look like a big black lump on a big print. Steve check out my image gallery @

much better!!
funny that, but my eyes just kept going to that spot. I am sure it would have ruined an otherwise great print. Steve check out my image gallery @

Willy & Christian - thanks for the comments
![]() Slight sharpen RAW conversion, and also slight curves adjustment. That's pretty much it - oh, and cloning out of an offending black spot on the leaf shot ![]() Rel Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

hi rel
thank you for your comment/respond. may i ask how much sharpening do you apply to a raw image? is it the same to apply sharpening in a jpgot tiff image? do you ever apply sharpening in photoshop? thanks againg christian check my website>> http://www.6701.sunpixs.com
Hey Christian - you get a 'cleaner' sharpening action when you do it on a raw file - or at least that's what I've been told (someone here will correct me). This shot was sharpened by 34% in the raw conversion ...... and that was it bar the curves adjustment in PS. If you oversharpen in PS, you get that lovely halo effect, so use unsharp mask, but only to a point.
Hope this makes sense?????? Rel Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

The highlight coming through the gap in the leaf in the first image grabs my eye, maybe if that part was cropped off the left hand side??? Terrific color and detail...
The soft pastel colors in the second shot are lovely, great subtle tones in the soft white leaf/petal area... Aka Andrew
