Byron Bay Blues Festival - The New Orleans Band Aid

So after a few hours of screwing around, my old man and I managed to get my camera in to the festival :) Much to my dismay I was unable to take pictures of the Afro-Cuban All stars, which I was looking forward to.. however, by the time I got my camera I was only able to get pics of these guys, but damn, what a show did they put on! :)

These are the first pictures of a gig I've ever taken, I'm really quite pleased with them. I used my 50/1.8 as well as my 18-70/3.5-4.5 and all shots were taken around ISO640-1250 so I'm fairly happy with the results :)

Comments much appreciated!

Vort, these are great, especially considering the high ISO. Captured the event nicely.

Vort - these are superb shots that prove, once again, that you don’t need the bells and whistles lenses to get excellent shots :)

I like the first one the most. It's a great image.

Wish I had gone. Every year I have friends that go and I never get off my lazy ass.

Yep their security policies were horrible. Basically they allowed people to get in with point and shoots that could record audio and video, and zoom further than my 50mm could.. it was a pain :) eventually I got it in though.
