Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Hiya Everyone,
Went to Montsalvat in Eltham, VIC and took some (149) photos that I have attached below ....... just kidding I have hand picked 3 photos done a bit of PS on them. I am hoping that I can get critique on my efforts and pointers on what I should/shouldnt being doing. Anything I should be doing on composition/cropping to further enhance these?
Main Gallery - played with "Selective colors" to bring out the sky colors
Chimney - not much PS done here
Swimming Pool - a bit of curves and darkened the arch frame
Thanks for your advice
Cheers
Mak

Mak, the swimming pool is excellent, very moody. Would be better without the creepy crawly hose if you could clone it out though.

very english country looking stuff here.
I like the first and last shots.
I think I preferred the first with a little cropped of the bottom as I dont believe the road adds anything to the shot.

1 & 3 for me too. In #1, I agree with Steve - a rouch less road. I'd also have a play with making the grass little greener to match the vibrancy of the sky.

The swimming pool is really excellent The first however seems a tad soft and lacking punch.

What ever happened to the jazz festivals they used to hold here?
Great location .....I like the shot of the pool. Needs a ghostly trumpet player added to it.

Thanks for your feedback everyone..
#1-> the sky was totally blown out in the initial exposure, I will play around more with the colors for the grass and re-post.
#2-> Anybody for this one at all?? I thought it was nice and arty-farty??? no.. oh well!!!
#3-> the story i want to tell here is, nice pool but no-one is allowed to swim.... almost errie silence, no splashing water etc etc....
I was a overcast day on Monday, no jazz players or anything else for that matter which was good and bad!!
Thanks for your honset feedback. I am learning lots n lots
Cheers
