Waterfalls - QLD & NSWA selection of pictures taken during recent trips into the mountains around the NSW/QLD border. The Minyon Falls shots required a 3.5hr round trip hike, lugging an aluminium 190 Manfrotto tripod.
For the Mount Tamborine photos, I learned my lesson and specifically chose waterfalls less than a 1km walk from the car park PP and composition advice much appreciated. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonasphoto/114972043/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/53/114972043_2bf8b2a98e.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="Nightcap National Park" /></a> Minyon Falls creek, Nightcap National Park, NSW <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonasphoto/114972035/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/34/114972035_11cc86fd17.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="Minyon Falls pool" /></a> Minyon Falls, Nightcap National Park, NSW <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonasphoto/135064224/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/30/135064224_65e59c6f57.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="Cedar Creek waterfall" /></a> Cedar Creek waterfall, Mount Tamborine, QLD <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonasphoto/135064225/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/26/135064225_038ba1eb5f.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="Cedar Creek waterfall and pool" /></a> Cedar Creek waterfall, Mount Tamborine, QLD <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonasphoto/135064223/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/47/135064223_f64940f8cf.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="Curtis Falls" /></a> Curtis Falls, Mount Tamborine, QLD Nikon D70s, Nikkor 18-70, Sigma 70-300DG APO

Very nice - although they are all variations on a theme, I do like them.
My fave is #2, mainly because of the colour. I like the composition too, although a trifle too structured. I least like the last one, because the image is too cluttered with fallen branches, and the colour is a little too monochromatic by comparison with the others. #1 is quite good too, but the flowing water at the bottom of the frame draws the eye out of the image. A series well presented. ![]() TFF (Trevor)

Life's too short to be sad ! http://bigred4x4.blogspot.com/2008/01/welcome.html http://bigred.redbubble.com
That last one looks like a scene calling out for a polariser to reduce the harsh reflection highlights on the leaves, you would get much more saturated colours... and require longer exposures, which can be a good thing for this type of scene. Gordon D70, D200, CP5700
Terrific location and lovely images.

Thanks all for the tips and kind words. Curtis Falls was a tricky location as there were lots of fallen palm tree branches in the creeks and streams there.
I didn't feel right wading in there and cleaning the bush up just for my photos. Gordon, I was using a CPL for the last image (as I did for all the images, I don't have an ND filter), but in hindsight I probably didn't have it at full strength. Nikon D70s, Nikkor 18-70, Sigma 70-300DG APO
