Arthur,

Very nice. Did you desaturate this one a bit. Looks slightly pale.

Probably need to see the shot you're trying to copy to make a proper comment. :D
But the image seems a bit cold, you could either play with it post, or try shooting with a gel or coloured reflector.

cheers,
Danny.

Hi

Postby yeocsa on Thu Apr 27, 2006 11:08 pm

I could add a bit more saturation. My screen is not calibrated. So it might look okay on mine but not on yours.

Make the colours a bit warmer and add a bit more saturation.

If you want the FHM look, you need to add in a bit more airbrushing in p/shop to mimic the mags.

I'm thinking that the wb is out a little on this one. That's where I'd be pointing my initial fixes on this.

Hi

Thanks for all your feedback. Looks kinda washout on my office monitor. Then again, it is not calibrated. Should be able to add more warm by adjusting wb and constrast.

Big improvement in that second shot, very nice, I think you captured the FHM style fairly well, it always helps to have a beautiful model to shot.

Hi

Postby yeocsa on Fri Apr 28, 2006 11:58 am

Thanks. I am now looking to buy a good LCD monitor.

Is there such a LCD where calibration is not required????

Any recommendations?

Although the 2nd image looks better, IMO it's still off. This could be a result of compression or loss of quality with JPG etc.

The colours now don't look natural, the tones on her face & arms look patchy / blotchy. It's either highlighting the poor application of maskara or showing a lot of imperfections in her skin. If you look at her hand, the fingers have a blue/grey tone then go to an over saturated colour on the knuckles.

My thoughts, then again, it may be my monitor as it seems I'm the only person that doesn't like the 2nd version....

It could be due to your monitor. Yes, there is a loss of quality as i made the changes on the jpeg (the first picture).
