Australia's Only Flying Spitfire

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I was lucky enough to be out at Temora during one of their flying weekends.

I got these shots of what is currently Australia's only flying spitfire. Quite a spectacular machine!

Yes, it's belonged to David Lowy, he just acquired it from NZ Warbird group, it was over Wanaka Warbird airshow two weeks ago and will be flying next month (14 or 15/5) at Temora Airfield.

Love the colour image in full flight.

The 1st is too dark & the grain is overdone in the 3rd.

AReyou sure he purchased that in NZ? I know that David purchased Col Paye's restored spitfire a couple of years ago and it was in excellent flying condition.

We had the privilege of seeing this aircraft up close (read climb and drool all over it) a couple of years ago at Bankstown.

Col's (now david's) spitfire was a magnificent example of this aircraft.

At the Temora show on the Easter weekend they mentioned that another spitfire was being shipped over from NZ. Maybe that's the spitfire Birddog is talking about.

I was on the Spitfire (Now belonged to David) at the Wanaka Airshow 02.

Temora already has a flying Spitfire, there is another one coming from NZ.

The NZ people arnt too happy either ;)

I want one! How come Lowy can have two whilst the rest of just have to drool. Hmmmm maybe the billion dollar bank account has something to do with it.

Birdy were you flying one at Wanaka 02?????

I think that the first image is too contrasty. Try decreasing the contrast and up the exposure / brightness a bit.

2nd image is nice.

3rd one I don't like the grain/noise either

Temora has the first one long time ago and the TB863 is the second Spitfire at Temora.

Yes, NZ Warbird fans aren't happy so far, lot of rants from them over this second Spitfire to Temora.

I have the invitation to go Temora the weekend of 14-15 May for the TB863, and join them in flying with one of their A-37 Dragonflies, unfortunately I already committed to another Mudgee trip at the same weekend :( :(
