Thanks BBJ.....just a question regarding the muslin, can any type of muslin material be purchased and dyed black and be quite similar to that which is purchased?

No other comments good or bad? Flowers don't seem to draw much attention or it's not a very appealing shot

Hi Paul,

another beautiful BoP. From memory I would say that I preferred your other one.

This one is good as well, but I find the front petals a bit distracting. They are slightly OOF. You could "butcher" the flower and remove those. You would be left with a very nice variation on the BoP, just the centre blue/purple bit framed by the orange petals.

Cheers,

André

Beautiful rich colours, great composition and symmetry with focus going to the blue flower. Terrific exposurte with the black background suiting the image. Lovely artistic image Paul.

What makes this pic special is the unusual perspective - I like :)

Appreciate the comments and suggestions guys!

Butchering the OOF petals is an idea but I don't know how easily would be able to accomplish and not be noticeable, given my "surgical" skills

The result would be what I am looking for, concentration of the blue petal

Thanks again guys!

Looks a bit like a ballerina - I agree with butchering the front petals. It would accentuate the ballerina resemblance.

You reckon? I think they look like a pair of crossed legs, adding to the "person" illusion.

I find it amazing what a different perspective (in this case one that nobody would think of with this kind of flower) can do.

Cheers
Steffen.

BTW, has anybody used black paper backgrounds in a light tent? Will they work ok or come out dark grey?

Cheers
Steffen.
