2 from Sapa, north Vietnam

Macka & I went to Sapa while we were in Vietnam becasue of the supposedly spectacular views! We were greeted with the thickest fog I'd ever seen, at one point it was so thick that you couldn't have seen the closest person in #2 at all.

I'm interested to see which of these people prefer and why. Suggestions for improvement (via PP, not reshooting ) are very welcome.

I find number 2 more appealing in its composition and content. Number 1 would, IMO, be improved by cropping out the light(?) pole on the right hand side.

with a bit of extra PP, #1 has definite potential.

suggestions:
- crop pole from the right hand side of frame, but not too much otherwise the people will be in the centre of the frame (which I think is slightly better)
- clone out what appear to be very feint power lines at top and the line that comes down to the light pole.

Hi Rooboy, love the first one, (not that I am an expert, this is all pretty new to me,) I would also crop off that first bit of post,, the 2nd to me just didnt have the same impact with that person right infront of the shot,,

A like the idea of cropping the pole in #1 - it's funny how often I miss something like that until it's pointed out to me.

Craig, I like your crop - a completely different take.

Daniel, I've already cloned out a few distracting details, I'll have a crack at the power lines as well. Cloning is surprisingly easy in thick fog

I got the same situation too, but worst my PS camera fog up and no pictures bring back here, that was 2003.I would keep the wall in pic 1, it add more depth to the picture.

#1 is better, gives a sense of isolation and intimacy. #2 looks more like a snapshot.

Hehe, you can hear them coming from at least 7 kms, they're so noisy

Cross the street in VN is a hazard, my mum was ran over by a noisy vietnamese biker in broad day light.

Macka, it's basically a pray, close your eyes and walk. Miracles happen all the time in that way in VN.

The first one is definitely my pick by a long way. The image of a couple disappearing into the fog really works, whereas the person in the blue raincoat just doesn't. Also agree with cropping out the black pole, but keep as much of the wall on the right as possible - it really adds to the feeling of depth.
