With all the wide angle shots lately I thought I'd do one myself.

Taken this arvo with the Tokina @ 12mm, f4 I believe.

I like the B/W shots... the effects it has on the sky is awesome.

Nice shot!

Very creative....

Did you get to see the viewfinder when taking it? Or just put it down the bench and snap away??

Thanks Stubbsy and Yip. Basically put the camera on the bench next to my camera bag and pushed the big grey button on top :) Oh, I did adjust for exposure and change focus points so it focused the closest point to the camera.

Owen

I think the border does the image a disservice. Too thick & too dark.

Thanks Stubbsy and Matt.

Stubbsy I always find it interesting how peoples opinions can differ. I think the border suits the image (perhaps because in my mind the image is has more of a darker mood to it) and you think the border spoils it. Thanks for the feedback.

Matt, the image is dark... but I don't think it is too dark for the mood of the image.

Cheers,
Owen.

I mostly forgot about the 'closest focus' function on the camera...

Thanks for reminding me, the function is still on my cam... :P

Oops, I didn't mean that function. All I did was move the focal area to the right one, because that would then focus on the seat realy close to the camera.

Sorry about the confusion.

Beautiful. I love contrasty stark B&W shots like this. Mind you, it worries me how much variation there must be on different monitors, and how much we must lose when we compress our pics for the web.

A great example of what a wide angle lens allows the photographer to do.
I like the lines, the composition, the B/W treatment.
I also think that the black frame is too thick.

Christian

Hi Storm.

I walked over to the seat to put my camera bag down so that I could put my camera away. :) Took a few shots while the camera was down to see how it turned out.

Cheers,
Owen.
