Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is. John great choice of subject - no way he could catch you loaded up like that.

I was going to have a go at this assignment but a couple of days ago while trying to capture a candid of a masseuse and her client in an open air market on the Cairns esplanade, with gorgeous late afternoon light streaming through the open-sided tent and I nearly had to make an emergency appointment with a proctologist to retrieve my camera. The incident scared me off having another attempt. Iwill pluck the courage and stealth to try candids once again
![]() The old lady doing the massage took quite an exception to me when she saw me pointing the camera in her direction. cheers marco
Finally managed to capture a candid that didn't get me into trouble - or not yet at least.

Wow... Top work Alex & Steve...
Alex, that portrait is excellent - she looks worried and I'm left wondering what she's fishing out of her handbag... Maybe a little more sharpening? Steve, the look on the guy's face is sublime... and his waistline goes to show that everything they say about Diet-Coke may be true... Sorry to hear of your bad experience Marco... Still a couple of days to go ![]() Cheers, John

Thanks, John and greencardigan
Yes, a little soft. I did not want to stop to catch her attention as I was fairly close so I kept walking while trying to shoot - not a good idea. I will try to apply more sharpening. Cheers Alex
Thanks for the reminder, John! What subjects have we had so far? Cheers Sheila Sheila Smart

Bulgaria TaxiGood morning everyone
Not been around for a while. I thought this image I took whilst over in Bulgaria earlier this month would apply: ![]() Not spent a lot of time PP'ing it, having seen it on the web I think the compression is a bit off. Hope your all well, just been looking at some of the pictures taken since I last visited the site - FANTASTIC! Keep up the good work CC D70

Here is a shot from the streets of Nadi, not sure I got the treatment right but the character deserved being posted here before months end.

It was a challenging shot from a mini van, through tinted glass so I'm very glad this one worked, many others didn't due to the speed of the van or the lack of focusing speed of the lens.
Medieval Fair Candid... he wasnt expecting me to be pointing a camera at him.. hope its good enuf..

Sorry. I can't help but reply to this. Anyone who expects that their "privacy" can be protected ON A PUBLIC STREET seriously needs to consider what privacy means. YOU, blacknstormy, need to be realistic in terms of what kinds of moralistic behaviour you're going to put up with from other people. People have the right to be upset if they want to be. I have the right to find out what makes them upset. Who is correct here? Bring on the photos! Time to dust off the 500mm Mirror lens.. People put way too much rubbish in signature blocks.

![]() Am I to late? Sorry this was just taken and processed What is the problem people have with getting up close and personal with people in the street? You get to meet the best people that way! Way to much photography gear is never enough!
