Especially for those who despise postcard pics of this Sydney icon (Birdy, Chris? ) And if there aren't enough for you here then I also have a SmugMug gallery just for SOH pics HERE

I did a HDR version of this one, but it was very soft. This is from a single image

Image

These next two are from the "Trieu Spot". If I tell you where it is I'll have to kill you.

has anyone noticed how over the past few months the lighting on the opera house looks more whitish (cooler)
i remember a while back the colour was different or am i simply going nuts?
i walk past the thing at night eveyday and suddenly noticed it a while back

your first image portrays the white light better

but in our other pics the shells have the usuall yellow tone

Keith,
I have to say and agreed the duck#4 & n#5 is far lot better in all colours, composing and angle than the #1,2& 3.

I'm sitting here looking at it and it doesn't seem that white from here
Perhaps it's the angle?
Or perhaps stubbsy applied the New Idea/Woman's Day teeth whitening action to it?

Nice Peter.

1 is great, I love the building and although it's sugar sweet I think it's a great shot.

Shots from the Trieu spot are goiod too. Out of these two I prefer the first. It slightly frustrates me that I can't see the edge of the restaurant but it's only a minor niggle.

That spot sure is sweet isnt it.

Keith, like the first Duck you have here, great shot :!: I prefer to have some sky detail visible as you have in this shot, the second Duck...I am not a big fan of the duotoning/sepia etc although some always stand out

Keith,
Revisit your ducks (#4), it has more life in it than the duck#1,2,3.
Reflection + colour of the sky + cloud made the photo stand out.

If there's anything else replaced the duck  the photo will be excellent, print and hang it up.

Keith,

Love the image, if anything I'd PhotoShop out the 2 cranes on the right hand side.

Definitely worth printing, especially in a portrait panorama.

Cheers

thanks for the comments
yes I have posted them here before, but as this is a SOH thread I though I would drop them in here (hope you don't mind Peter as I think this was a tongue in cheek thread for birddy) :)
I plan to clone out the cranes and the shark and print it (when My monitor is properly calibrated)

I toned the second one as I'm starting to get a little tired of SOH shots myself but wanted to post photos from from our get together a few weeks ago and needed to do something different, the photos can be seenhere for those that missed them

Hehehehe! It's SOH and it's SOH, whatever SOH photo under my eye is the floating duck and it's me only perhaps.

Did we have enough? yes more than enough  but not on the technical side or the way which the photographers try to manupulate of the photos to their own tastes.
