This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I had a go at using some selective desaturation and burning. It's not a real grunge, I think it is more a "semi-grunge"? Does the result work?

Works for me Doug, tho' I think the title should have been "Conductor passed out drunk 'lion' on the tracks".

Oh, come on Bob, he's wearing his little conductor's outfit!
[Edit: Ah, I see what you mean. I changed the title completely. ]

Ah.. I was wondering what to do about the eyes. I thought it was a shame when I was taking the photos that the eyes were so wide open.. Hmm I need to make them look sleepy/groggy. Thanks Chris.

I'm not sure if the white eyes are much better? I'm not an illustrator, I don't know how to do groggy eyes..? Shouldn't they be half closed?

I do wonder why you were out photographing with a toy lion and a bottle of Jim?
But then you are a Doug

Thanks Craig, this is a bit of railway line at balmoral that is a kind of outdoor museum of where the old tram line used to be. It is only a very short piece of track, but I kept it in mind for a spot to go for photography if I ever need a bit of railway line.
Unfortunately when I got there today, most of it had been grown over by grass and weeds. This was the only bit of the track with not much grass.
Dug, I took this crazy photo for a photo assignment. Otherwise ideas like this don't come into my head that often... honest! Hehe.
That explanation is for MattC too!
