Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Took this last night while trying to remain calm at work, I find that while on hold with ISP tech support a little night time photography does my nerves wonders.
Anyways, do either of these work, I'm not 100% sold of the shot (it's full frame so I considered a crop close to the wharf). I originally took the shot because of the bright colours, but I thought I'd give a B&W version a go, do either of them interest you or are they both rubbish ? Or alternatively any suggest on PP to improve what I've got.
Thanks,
Craig

Craig,
B&W doesn't work for me.
The focus is the colour patches on the water, 2 does a beter job. Personally I fin my eye darting to find a point of focus though mate.

Thanks for the honesty Matt, I pretty much agree with you.. while the colours are nice there's just no punch line to the shot.

Criag, I prefer the colour one too.
And I'd like to be able to see where the colour is coming from.

Well here is where the colour was coming from, not a very exciting shot either But atleast it puts it in perspective.

colour is better, but i think you might be able to crop out part of that image for a more abstract pic. try cropping it from the walkway down as per your first version (but without the water above the walkway...if that makes sense)

The colour one. It's basically a sort of light painting, so the B&W one doesn't do much for me.

Colour is better. I don't mind the wider city shot either.

With the 1st shot. You took a pic of a whalf as the main subject but it seems to dark. (could be my work monitor). My eyes wonder whats happening at the top of the pic or the right where the whalf leads. Hope this helps.
